FSP-851 is a Notifier low-profile intelligent plug-in photoelectric smoke sensor for the signaling line circuit (SLC) of Notifier Onyx and CLIP series fire alarm control panels. It communicates using the FlashScan protocol or CLIP mode, reports its sensitivity to the panel, and is addressed with rotary decimal switches. The sensor mounts on a separately ordered detector base.

Compatibility and installation notes
- Plug-in sensor: order a compatible base separately. Bases named in the data sheet include B210LP (U.S. flanged low-profile), B501 (European flangeless), B200S and B200SR sounder bases, B224RB relay base and B224BI isolator base.
- Mount the base on an electrical backbox at least 1.5 in (3.81 cm) deep.
- End-of-line resistors are not required on the SLC; T-taps are permitted only for Style 4 (Class B) wiring.
- When using relay or sounder bases, check the ISO-X installation sheet I56-1380 for device limits between isolator modules and isolator bases.
- Bi-color LEDs blink green when polled and turn steady red in alarm (FlashScan systems only). Walk test with address display is also FlashScan only.
- Built-in test switch is activated with an external test magnet (M02-04-00 or M02-09-00).
- Space detectors per NFPA 72.
- Notifier describes the FSP-951 Series as a direct replacement for the FSP-851 Series.
