SIGA-HRD is an Edwards Signature Series intelligent heat detector that combines a 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature alarm point with a 15°F per minute rate-of-rise alarm point. The rate-of-rise function responds to fast, flaming fires and the fixed-temperature function responds when the air near the detector exceeds the alarm point. It is compatible only with the Signature Loop Controller and plugs into a separately ordered Signature Series detector base.

Compatibility and installation notes

• Compatible only with the Edwards Signature Loop Controller; feature support depends on the control panel.
• Compatible bases: SIGA-SB, SIGA-SB4, SIGA-RB, SIGA-RB4, SIGA-IB, SIGA-IB4, SIGA-AB4G, SIGA-AB4GT and SIGA-AB4G-LF. SIGA-LED remote LED works with SIGA-SB/SB4 only.
• Bases mount to North American 1-gang boxes, 3-1/2 in or 4 in octagon boxes 1-1/2 in (38 mm) deep; 4 in bases also fit 4 in square boxes.
• Bases accept 18 to 12 AWG wire; 16 and 18 AWG are preferred.
• The manufacturer states that heat detectors alone do not provide life safety protection; use with smoke detectors as part of a complete system.
• The detector does not sense fires where heat cannot reach it, such as inside walls or behind closed doors.
